erickMEET ERICK

Meet Erick. Erick is 19 years old and lives in Mindo, Ecuador. His compelling story is an example of strong character, unyielding faith, and a relentless drive to serve others.

PROMISING FUTURE

Erick attended UEFTE, a blended boarding/day faith-based school in Mindo, Ecuador, since the age of five. He was an exemplary student who loved to read and play soccer. His favorite subject was math, therefore he chose a course of study that focused on accounting. Erick suffered the tragedy of losing his mother; however, deep-rooted in his faith and conviction, he persevered and graduated valedictorian of his class, boasting grades that superseded expectations. Erick has a clear vision of his academic goals and a deep understanding of the hard work and commitment it requires to achieve them. His life-long dream is to go to college and become an electrical engineer to support and provide for his family.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Erick lacks the financial resources to pursue his dreams of pursuing a college education. Financial burdens often force students to delay their studies, slow their academic development, or prevent them from pursuing a career. Your special gift will enable Erick to attend college in the city of Quito, Ecuador. Erick is an inspiration to his peers and family. He is also an inspiration to PGKids Global.

LET’S DO THIS!

Our goal is to give Erick the opportunity to attend and graduate from college. In order to fully fund Erick’s college costs, PGKids Global needs your help to raise $5,000 a year for five years. All funds raised will go directly toward tuition, room and board, tutoring, career counseling, and job placement services. Your donation, no matter the size, will provide critical support for this gifted and promising student of limited means. Together we can help Erick reach his dreams of obtaining a college career.

THE PROGRAM

Over the past 10 years, Erick was sponsored to attend UEFTE by Mindo Futures, whose goal is to provide its students with more than just tuition and living expenses, but to also develop character and integrity in them. It is an organization that empowers the youth of Mindo, Ecuador through educational support and guidance in an effort to end poverty. Academically qualified and need-based graduates of UEFTE are eligible to participate in Mindo Futures’ Bridge Program which provides an opportunity to attend a university in Quito, Ecuador. This program provides tuition, housing, tutoring, career counseling, mentoring, and job placement for promising students who would otherwise be unable to continue their studies. Erick will live amongst other MF’s Bridge Program students under adult guidance and supervision where he will have support during the transition into college and the acclimation process of living in a big city.
